"Real Man" was written by John Hiatt. Robbin Ford also covered it.

As a singer, Jerry Williams may be known to some of you by the name
Swamp Dogg. Under that name, he put out interesting stuff, soul music
with no-hards-barred lyrics at times.

"Real Man" was written by (Jerry L. Williams) Hamstein Music/Urge
Music/Careers Music Inc. -- BMI and appears on Bonnie Raitt's hit Album,
Nick of Time
("Thing Called Love" recorded on that same CD was written by John Hiatt)
The song you looked up online is a different tune by the same title... geez,
that's never happened!

I believe Swamp Dogg is a different person. The deceased Jerry Lynn
Williams is from Texas per the obit provided.

Swamp Dogg (Jerry Williams) is from Virgina originally.

Swamp is still with us, crankin' 'em out, being his old self (check out
http://swampdogg.safeshopper.com/?884) . This fellow who just passed is a
different Jerry Williams. Swamp wrote some great ones: "Mama's Baby,
Daddy's Maybe", "Sam Stone", etc. and produced albums on Doris Duke, Irma
Thomas, Commodores, Billy Price, Ruby Andrews...a very long list indeed.

And Swamp's biggest hit, the unforgettable "Total Destruction to Your
Mind." I likes that song!
