Ian did the best version of One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer that I've ever
heard. His originals are very original, frequently fast paced. He hit on
many genres--soul, country, rock side of blues. The songe he covered from
the masters had his own flavor--and I loved it!

He'll be in Seattle this weekend (see schedule below), and then at
Waterfront. Don't miss him--this is the future of the blues. It's in good hands with
Ian Siegal, IMO. (As an aside, I enjoyed his live performance much more
than his CD. I think the CD is an acquired taste

Hey Deb!

I did catch Ian's set at Waterfront. It happened right on the A&E stage in
front of the DME Blues Cruise tent so we had great visibility and sound.
You're right about the One Scotch, etc. Great version. Thanks for teh tip!

That was Ian's acoustic set that Barbara saw.
He later did an electric set on the North Stage
that I heard and he was great!!

I got to hear both sets. I gotta say I was annoyed when he went into his
faux Howlin' Wolf voice. It really bothered me. Cub Koda did the same to
my ears (and I still like "Smokin' In The Boys Room" and really miss his
contributions). The standouts for me were the Rhythm Council (Papa Mali,
Henry Butler & Kirk Joseph), someone told me they were Little Feat Jr;
Teresa James, Edie Cusic, Irma Thomas, Reggie Houston, Johnny Rawls, Henry
Gray with Lil' Buck Sinegal, and especially Eden Brent. The one I wish I
hadn't missed was the Roomful set. I did catch Mark Dufresne with 'em, but
left before Curtis joined 'em. Lost opportunity there. Shame on me.
All-in-all, way better than what I dreaded it would be. Yes, shame on me.
