Marvin Berry--cousin of Chuck?

Seems my query to you zellers was misunderstood judging by the answers.
Yes, in Back To The Future, Marvin Berry is the character, a black guitar
player, who cuts his hand and can't play, so the Michael J. Fox character
Marty sits in for him at the prom.

Marvin goes to the phone and calls his "cousin" Chuck Berry regarding
"that sound" that he was looking for.

I heard of a band "Marvin Berry & the so and sos" playing around here
recently, advertised as the band from the movie. SO, once again....

Is this a fictional character, or the real cousin of Chuck Berry? And is
this band for real? or a contrived band (like the Blues Brothers) ?

Anybody..??
