Subject: Announcing the Nominating Committee's Slate of Nominees
and Information on Petitioning to add Candidates.
The Annual Meeting of the CREN Membership by Proxy is scheduled to be
held on TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, 1995. At this meeting (proxy count), four
Trustees will be elected to succeed those whose terms have expired: RONALD
BRIGGS, IRA FUCHS, LARRY RAPAGNANI and MARK STRAWCUTTER.
According to the CREN Bylaws (Sec. 5.4.2), the Nominating Committee
shall accept petitions from the Member Representatives for candidates for
Trustee. Any candidate for whom petitions are received from at least 5% of
the CREN members will be added to those on the Nominating Committee's slate
(below) for the election.
Since the Nominating Committee must publish a list of nominees,
including candidates nominated by petition prior to the Annual Meeting, it
is imperative that Petitions of Nomination from CREN Member Representatives
be submitted no later than NOON, TUESDAY, JANUARY 3, 1995.
For an individual to be added to the Slate of Nominees, petitions must
be received from at least 5% of CREN Member Representatives (a total of 25
petitions). To be nominated, an individual is required to be an employee
of a CREN Member. Notification of intent to petition by a potential
candidate MUST be sent to the Nominating Committee by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23,
1994.
Petitions of Nomination should be submitted electronically to
NOMINATE@BITNIC (nomi...@cren.net) to be considered. Please submit the
petition in the following format:
list your full name, title, name of your organization, name of person
being nominated and a statement of support for the candidate.

A current CREN membership list and a current listing for CREN Member
Representatives are available via anonymous ftp or on CREN's gopher at
ftp.cren.net:/cren/membership/, gopher.cren.net:CREN Information/
Membership Information/, respectively.
The official proxy will be mailed to the CREN Member Representatives
after close of the petition period. The proxy packet will include the
official slate of nominees with their election statements. In order for
your vote to count, your proxy MUST be received by 3:00 PM on
JANUARY 24, 1995.
