The BEST CASINO award pretty much sums it up for modern country music.
(Also BEST TALENT SCOUT and BEST NIGHTCLUB or whatever they called it)
Why doesn't IBMA give a BEST FESTIVAL award? As well as recognizing
different Instrument builders ?
(Aside from Gibson & Martin) The Loarfest last year is a good example but
there are loads of other unsung heros of lutherdom.
CM cares about money, plain and simple - BG cares about music. period.

It's fun to pretend.

Stuart Duncan and Jerry Douglas just this week won awards for their
respective instruments from the CMA.

The best casino award by Country Music (Was it CMA?) surprised me, but
then I thought, if I were trying to book acts into casinos, it might
help to grease the pot with some promised free publicity on National TV.
Then, pit one casino against the other to book the most acts for the
publicity.

Plus, it is a foot in the door. If country music proves popular in one
casino, then others will book them.

Then again, maybe Don Joe Boblopsky offered CMA an offer they couldn't
refuse.
