I wonder about the bones of information still listed on the Banyan-L...

Are there any secrets here? The history that was this great technology?

I dont expect a reply because of the last Vines related post being in 2006. But I found this list again by accident, as I was strolling down memory lane on the 20th anniversary of me starting work with Banyan Systems.

May the muser be with you and for heaven's sake, no *@*@* messages. /grin

I'm here but I'm new. I'm trying to use Banyan Vines for the very first time! I
have experience with the Windows crap and with Netware but always wanted to
give Vines a try. After playing with it for about a week I have it running
under an emulator. It was a real PITA with it not supporting IDE CD-ROM,
especially when I couldn't use SCSI! But now 8.5 is fully installed .... and I
of course don't have any server/option codes/enablers. :( I don't suppose you
have any still???

I was just going to post a plea for help on BANY...@lists.uakron.edu, which
still existed 4 days ago but now seems to have disappeared! It still had 53
members subscribed, although most of those addresses are/were probably dead.
Your post didn't show up there so apparently the USENET gateway is down, which
means these messages aren't reaching anyone left there.

I actually have two Banyan CNS servers. One has been sitting the garage for 15 years and the other is in my computer room but I haven't turned it on in over 10 years. I forgot the id and password. Doh!
