This is a brief survey, mainly for academic and research libraries, on the
organization of any juvenile literature/juvenile level collections they may
have within their library or library system. Organization includes both the
physical organization (shelving location) as well as the intellectual
organization of classification and subject headings (local and children's
literature subjects, and LCSH).

Our reason for distributing this survey on Autocat is to gather information
about other academic or research libraries' treatment of juvenile materials,
so that we can use what we learn to do a better job of serving our community
of education majors and other juvenile material users.

Your input would be greatly appreciated. I will post a summary of responses
to the list, if there were interest in this. Academic and research libraries
are the main target libraries for this survey, but I welcome input from
anyone that would like to respond.

Please send your responses to me directly, if at all possible. Thank you!
