To all who have asked, what I would do is start with Doctor's Data. Tell them
your child's diagnosis, don't go into the whole story, just say PDD, autism
whatever. Tell them you want some biochemical testing done by their lab and
you need a referral of a doctor inyour area that is familiar with autism that
they have dealt with in the past. If they don't have a suggestion, then go to
Immuno Labs or Great Smokies. But when you call the doctor, exercise a little
caveat emptor (buyer beware), don't buy into a lot of scratch tests. Tell the
doctor you KNOW that a lot of our kids have biochemical differences that can
be fixed/improved with supplements etc. And that you'd like to get to the
bottom of it through testing at these labs. Ask for things like organic acid
, amino acid surveys, poop analysis for fungi and for allergens. You may
also want the doctor to authorize bloood testing for immunologic titers for
all components of childhood vaccines, the D, the P the T, the M, theM and the
R. Labs: Doctor's Data: 1-800-323-2784, Immuno Labs 1-800-231-9197, Great
Smokies 1-800-522-4762. Another thing to check for is iron, zinc and selenium
levels. If the selenium is low, that can be added, but if the iron and zinc
are low, you've got to be careful because the body dumps these things to
protect itself in the face of bacteriological infestations. So adding may not
help, even though the body desparately needs these things. Candace
