<< Treatment consists of a gentle acupressure technique applied along
the spine areas while the patient holds the offending sample item.
The patient is also instructed to touch certain finger tips together
on one hand to key into the level of the body being cleared. The
acupressure strengthens the body response to the offending item with
an "energy adjustment." A specific series of acupuncture points are
then stimulated with either needles or acupressure to "lock in" the
treatment. For 25 hours the patient must abstain from any contact
with the item being treated, allowing the treatment to create an
energetic change that will now circulate through each of the 12
meridians. This takes 24 hours, plus 1 extra hour for a safety margin.
Each of the meridians has a peak circulation time of 2 hours out
of the 24 hour day. Patients are asked to return to the office
within 7 days to be re-tested be make sure the treatment is being
retained. Sometimes a patient will experience strange symptoms or
discomfort after a treatment, which is actually a clearing process,
and will stop altogether by the end of 24 hours. If discomfort
continues, the patient needs to return to be checked, since they may
not have cleared the treatment. Usually this is due to the patient's
exposure to an offending item before 24 hours has passed. Anyone of
any age can go be treated with N.A.E.T. If a young child, infant or
adult is too weak to be tested by kinesiology, a surrogate may be
used.
When a person thinks of allergies, what usually comes to mind are
upper respiratory symptoms like colds, sinus infection, ear
infections, asthma, hay fever. Allergies can also manifest in many
other ways. As an example, an allergy to calcium and dairy sources
can materialize as a failure to grow, or may emerge later on in life
as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, kidney stones, and bone spurs.
Patients with chronic conditions and illnesses often have many core
foundational nutrient allergies.
Some people who go through the conventional blood testing & skin
scratch testing methods, and then under go the immunity shots,
continue to have unresolved allergies. The Kinesiology method is a
more sensitive method for determining which items an individual is
allergic to, and is by far the simplest to perform, often discovering
information that the blood tests did not reveal. The N.A.E.T. test
kits have hundreds of items to check on, many of which cannot be
tested by the blood and skin scratch methods.
When a person has an allergy to a vitamin/mineral and the
associated food sources, the body has not used the nutrition
correctly, which can lead to a deficiency, and in some cases is a
corner stone of immune weakness. Taking vitamins when there is an
underlying allergy to a vitamin or mineral causes more harm than good.
After a patient is cleared of basic nutritional allergies, vitamin &
mineral supplementation is often required to build up the deficient
areas.
Situations which respond well to N.A.E.T. include food allergies,
chronic viral conditions, immune weakness, arthritis, migraine
headaches, upper respiratory allergies, hormone imbalances, gluten
intolerance (celiac sprue), colitis, chemical exposures, and chronic
fatigue syndrome. One of my early patients for whom I used the N.A.E.
T. method came in with skin cancer of the lip. She reported having
been on a boat the previous summer, receiving a sun burn on a day
when she also had a cold sore on her lip. Over the course of a year
she had been to a dermatologist who diagnosed her skin problem as
cancerous. She had the skin from the area surgically removed 5 times,
but found that the site would never totally heal, and had recurrent
bouts of the skin cancer. Upon examination it was apparent that the
skin was very thin and raw looking. During testing I found that she
was allergic to radiation, shingles virus, PABA, and vitamins A, D,
and B-complex. Within 2 treatments her skin formed a thick (normal)
layer of skin. She continued to come in for treatment for all of the
allergies, and has had no recurrence of this skin problem. She has
been free of this problem for 8 months now. It is cases like this
that have illustrated to me how powerful this system is.
Dr. Devi Nambudripad has written a book entitled Say Good-bye To
Illness, which is recommended reading for anyone interested in
learning about this method. In addition to case histories, she
discusses in depth the N.A.E.T. methods of diagnosis, "O" ring
testing, and meridian symptomology. Patients are asked to read this
before committing to the N.A.E.T. program, in addition to using a
patient workbook for record keeping and for use during allergy
treatment, which gives detailed food lists to use during the 24 hour
clearing process.
Dr. Devi trains professionals in her method in an effort to make
this work available nation wide. She offers seminars four times each
year and her certified graduates include Acupuncturists,
Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Medical Doctors, and Nutritionists. The
training she offers is part of her mission to make N.A.E.T. available
to the public on a larger scale, and the test kits are available only
to certified practitioners. There is a basic and advanced course, and
advance course graduates are part of her referral base list which is
made available to the public.
