Dear HE Researchers,

I am seeking to identify universities, especially in large metropolitan
areas, that have undergone institutional turnaounds as defined primarily
by 3 years of enrollment decline followed by three years of enrollment
increase. My reasearch centers around what leaders in these institutions
learned from their experiences, and what part the urban context may have
played.

Can you forward the names of any institutions that fit this profile? I
would be eternally in your debt for any information you might forward....

Thanks,

Mike Daley

CSULB is one of these universities - urban, large, had a large decrease
in enrollment, terrible budget problems, but is now closing admission
earlier and earlier. Reputation is on the rise. We got a new president
4 years ago whose personality has helped tremendously with this. His
name is Dr. Maxson. He implemented also many new programs , very PR
oriented which have attracted valadictorians from all over California
(we have 200). Contact his office, Armando Contreras can provide
info. acon...@csulb.edu or (562) 985-4121.
