Intellectual Property Policies

I am assembling a task force at our school to draft a policy on
intellectual property rights with respect to faculty work product, etc.
I'd appreciate if anyone would like to share a copy of an existing policy
or cares to give any comments about potential pitfalls, significant
issues, etc.

How do you define "faculty work product"? Are you referring to original
work other than research? I'd appreciate some history on this. Is there a
perception that copyright laws do not provide enough protection?

Contact the university lawyer at the Univ of Georgia. I was there a couple
of years ago and they had quite a detailed and excellent booklet. UGA is in

We need to specifically address IP issues that relate to product created
by, with the assistance, of, etc. the various technology that are
currently available. I use the generic workd "product" becuase we are not
only talking about written product, but artistic, etc. Hope this is
clearer.
