Educational Leadership (two positions)
--Assistant Professor
--Open Rank for Second Faculty Position

The School of Education at UNC-CH is part of a major and
esteemed research university where collaboration within the
school and across the university is highly valued. The School
is searching for two faculty members to be part of the
School1s effort to develop a state of the art program
designed to prepare school leaders.

The Positions: Both faculty positions are tenure-track
positions. For the Assistant Professor position, the School
seeks a scholar in the field of Educational Leadership. For
the second position, the School is seeking an individual with
the energy for dynamic leadership, outreach, and
collaboration and who is able to present distinguished
writing, teaching, research, and experience addressing the
challenges that confront schools. Responsibilities in either
position will include contributing to professional training
programs at the Master1s and doctoral levels, including
teaching one or more of the following: Organizational Theory,
Administrative Careers, and Leadership Theory. The faculty
members may also supervise graduate interns in their school-
based practica. It is expected that the successful applicants
will provide service to state, regional, and national
associations as well as to the schools of North Carolina.
Successful applicants must have the capacity to bridge
university and school cultures and to draw upon resources
from a broad range of educational, community, business, and
cultural institutions to forge collaborations that can
support the development of strong school leaders.

Qualifications: The successful applicant for either position
will have an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a
related discipline, a strong disciplinary background and
experience in K-12 education, and evidence of research
commitment in the field of Educational Leadership. The
successful candidates must have an interest in or experience
in teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership,
serving on and/or directing doctoral dissertations, and/or
teaching in cohort graduate programs. The School welcomes
applicants who will challenge traditional approaches to the
preparation of school leaders.
