Position 1:
Division of Educational Foundations and Research
Assistant/Associate in Educational/Developmental Psychology
The Division of Educational Foundations and Research in the
College of Education at the University of West Florida seeks
an Assistant/Associate Professor for a tenure-earning
position. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in
Educational/Developmental Psychology or equivalent which
includes an emphasis in educational research/statistics.
Responsibilities of the position include teaching
undergraduate and graduate educational/developmental/learning
psychology courses and graduate educational statistics and
research courses; advising and guiding graduate theses and
dissertations; collaborating with other faculties to improve
existing programs and build new programs; maintaining an
active research agenda; and working in a collaborative manner
with the schools and community. The salary is competitive
and commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications:
1.An earned doctoral degree in Educational/Developmental
Psychology
2.Emphasis in educational research(knowledge of quantitative
and qualitative research methods preferred)
3.Strong commitment to quality teaching and working with
students
4.Excellent research and writing skills
5.Ability to communicate and work collegially with a diverse
student population and faculty
6.Preferred experience in working
collaboratively with a school district and/or an educational
community
7.Substantial knowledge of psychological foundations and
educational research and preferred knowledge in educational
reform and accountability initiatives
