I work with photographers to help them manage their portfolios and get
online. For my latest assignment, I want to work with an existing
online company to sell Rights Managed and Fine Art Prints of a vintage
photo collection that I will be managing. Right now the photographer
does everything by hand (by email requests). I know a lot about web
design and I could probably buy software and install it myself but I
don't want to! I want to just upload the images and let someone take
care of the rest.

I want the RM price inquiry to be automatic (a software calculation so
the client doesn't have to wait to talk to someone on the phone), then
I want the client to be able to download the size they want
immediately. Is that even possible - can a RM website be open 24/7? Or
does there have to be some human interaction?

So far, all of the sites I have looked at fall short (I don't want to
trash them here so I won't mention names).

A lot of places that let you sell stock don't allow the customer to
buy prints, places that sell prints don't let you sell as stock.
except http://www.thephototool.com - they let you do both. And you can
choose who you want to do the order fulfullment. And a client can buy
and download a digital file for stock use.

Does anyone have any experience with them? They seemed to offer
everything I want but their example websites were only galleries - I
couldn't purchase online. Maybe they are just starting? Can you
suggest other companies that do it all? (take care of the credit card
payments, everything)

(If you could upload proofs and be able to sell to Sue Soccermom, that
would be great too - something easy to navigate. Some of the sites I
have looked at are too, well, professional stock - looking. The
photographers I work with do stock and fine art but they also do an
occasional wedding or family portrait and they need to be able to have
a website where they can show galleries & proofs to a variety of
clients - from professional photo buyers to Nascar dads.)

Thanks for any help you can give me. I thought I would post here
because I think there must be a lot of others struggling with this
same question (alone).

Catherine
