The Kodak Pegasus prints are very fine - true photographic prints (Kodak
standard color printing paper) and you would not know the difference
between them and a print from an enlarger. For $150,000, it should make a
nice print. I haven't seen prints made from the Fujix 3000, but, from what
your saying, it doesn't sound like it's imaged on photographic paper so you
might not be comparing apples to apples. However, prints from the CSI Light
Jet 5000 are sharper than those printed on the Pegasus and are printed on
Ilfochrome or Fuji FA-5 (matte or glossy). Get a Light Jet 5000 sample
print and pricelist from Laser Light Photographics (Shrewsbury, MA) - phone
508-799-3996. Boston Photo will also send a Kodak Pegasus print sample and
pricebook of all their services - their website is
http://www.bostonphoto.com. Visit their website. Both sample prints are
quite impressive - the Pegasus prints are less expensive and the Light Jet
prints are sharper and on (Fuji FA-5) the most stable of color printing
papers. See the page on my website titled "Getting Digital with Your
Images" for more info on these and other digital imaging devices and
optimum file resolutions for various color printers and film recorders.
