Dear Sir,
I am a third year undergraduate student at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Patna campus. I have got an opportunity to work with Dr. Carlton Baugh at Durham University, United Kingdom, one of the top 100 universities in the world and more than 600 years old, this summer on a project on computational cosmology for a period of two month beginning this May.
I have been working and studying about this field for more than five years. I have also worked as a winter intern at Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi this year and even started an astronomy club, AstroTrekkers at our college to discuss about the various prospects of how engineering can be used in the field of astronomy.
The project focuses on the temperature of the dark matter and how this affects the growth of structure in the universe and its numerical analysis. This demonstration will be part of the Institute for Computational Cosmology's exhibit at the Royal Society of London for the year 2013.This is a wonderful opportunity for me which will help me a lot in pursuing my postgraduate studies and help me identify my prospective PhD advisers.
The trip is not funded and costs around Rs.1.5 lakhs. I have managed to collect one lakh rupees approximately with the help of some sponsors and my own finances and would be very grateful if you could help me with the remaining deficit by donating even a small amount. I have included the details in the signature. Alumni has been very helpful and supportive towards encouraging students to pursue avenues of their interest and have a successful career and represent BIT at a international and national platforms. It would be very helpful if you could forward this to other alumni members also.
