Dear Friends,
I just had a look at the shared doc made by Shishir. The names put in after me seem to be written by a single person. So, the fear I had wid shared doc has come true.
Now, we cannot present this sheet by eliminating names bcoz that will be unfair.
Like has always happened, people do not have any path of their own. Whatever they have been ordered or whatever feels non conflicting is done by majority. They do what is convenient not what is right.
Frankly speaking, I too don't have such a big issue for attending the convo on 30th march. Whatever is the case for me for March 30 will remain the same for May 30. Why I am opposing it, because I see Janata with genuine problems.
I am writing this mail to a selected few people who seemed to be responsible enough for the society not only for their own.
following are few problems which I can think for support of our case:
1. Annual/ Semester Exams for people in higher studies
2. GDs/Interviews for people who have been selected by IIMs or other management institutes
3. Financial Yr Closure which brings its own hectic schedule for people who are working
4. Some people are out of the country, for whom planning for a delayed convo will be much easier and practicable.
4. Market Condition: Due to the ongoing recession, many people including BITians of 2k4 batch have lost their jobs. Many are on the verge of being terminated. Under these circumstances, they will not be able to attend the convo, even if they do, they won't happily do that. If once they were our frnds, we should be caring for them in tough times. Delaying the convo will allow the market to gain some stability or they will be able to find temporary employments.
There may be other reasons of all of us, which we can definitely list.
Let's put a step forward.
I see the convo invitation by the Chancellor himself. This person is particularly known for right thoughts and his morals. I believe approaching him will certainly help. He is not a BIT ADMINISTRATOR. Lets write a letter to him with all the genuine problems we have and wish that it works.
Atleast we won't regret later that we only kept circulating some email, didn't actually do anything.
If others are uncomfortable doing this, I am ready to lead this. I think fighting for right is my right.
