i m using backtrack 4 . each time i restart my computer i need to set
my ip again . . . and also plz tell me how to set my dns server
address .. . .

I suggest you to install xchat or any other IRC program and join the
"backtrack' channel , that will be best place for asking "backtrack
specific questions" if you are not able to find answer using google
search. Here, most of us are ubuntu or fedora users ,so I hope IRC
channel managers will be able to solve ur problem and they will also
provide you some more tips about that distro too.
