Youhave to either install existing Extensions, or use the Find Extensions link to look for extensions on Adobe Exchange. Once you have done that, Window > Extensions (legacy) will become available, and show you whatever extensions you have installed.
The extensions menu is generally enabled by default.
However, if you notice the extensions menu is there but appears inactive or greyed out, simply head to Photoshop's preferences, select the Plugin tab, and ensure the "Load Extension Panels" option is checked.
After restarting Photoshop, you should locate the Panel under the Photoshop menu by navigating to Window > Extensions (legacy).

Hi, Can you explain this a bit more. I have a .zxp file that will not install in Extension Manager CC...and thus not in Photoshop CC, but it sounds like you've found a solution for files to now work in CC? Did yours start as .zxp or .mxi?
The files used to be .mxp. Open up your extension manager cs6 and highlight the file. Click on tools > convert mxp extension to zxp. Then save the file. When you double click on the zxp file, it should now open up in the new extension manager cc version.
Please check the state of these extensions in Extension Manager CC. Are they enabled (with a checked state) or disabled (unchecked state)? Have you seen any error message when you install them in Extension Manager CC?
Do you mean that you have installed some extensions with Extension Manager CC successfully, these extensions are listed in "Window -> Extensions" menu in Photoshop CC, but all the extension name menu items are greyed out?
Yes, I installed extensions with Extension Manager CC successfully, no error messages. and the "Windows -> Extensions" menu is greyed out...nothing happens when I hover over it. I can't even mouse over it to see what is installed, it's just not available.
Second time this has happened and the fix last time took like three hours!! And of course the Creative Cloud Desktop app upgrade itself fails, requires the ancient cleaner tool then the other CC installs fail in some other way.
The posts above actually mentioned two different issues. One is that MXP is not supported in EM CC, so when a user clicks "Install" button in EM and browses to the folder where MXP is located, all MXP files are greyed out in browse file dialog box; another is that "Extensions" menu item is greyed out in products such as PS, DW, etc. Is your issue the latter one? We didn't release update on January 15. Which update have you installed? What is your operating system (Windows or Mac)? It seems that your main issue is CC product update issue. I guess _install_setup/creative_clou d_faq or _cloud is better forum for your question.
I have a huge 8 bit B&W image (PNG, 200k x 100k px) which is a high resolution generated map of a large area, so I can't generate it in small chunks. The map is fine, Photoshop CC 19 (Windows 10) handles it great, but I now need to slice it into 8192 x 8192 px tiles, and I'm having no luck. Nothing in the "save as" dialog, nor anything apparently relevant in the "export as" dialog, and "save for web" is greyed out and I can't figure why.
Clean install, from Adobe installer, no messing round or extensions. I've got as far as an image with slices/tiles shown correctly in blue (and unwanted slices/tiles deleted), but can't seem to get it to do anything with them.
If Save for Web is greyed out, then something else is up. Possibly the image is in 32bit per channel. Save for Web doesn't work with that bit depth. It will only work in 8bit per channel or 16bit bit per channel.

After installing the provided Escape Motions Connect Installer Script, the extension does not show up under (Mac) Windows > Extensions at all. In fact, the Extensions Panel does not load under PS 2022. This is something to do with ther new M1 Macs and Adobe. There is no way to load Legacy Extensions either under Preferences > Plugins as the feature is grayed-out.
Hello @JohnMaskell,
It seems that the latest version of Photoshop in combination with M1 chips does not support extensions anymore:
-to-get-photoshop-extensions-and-plugins-to-work-on-m1-computers/
We will try to find a solution how to make the plug-in accessible to all users once supporting M1 natively, however, it might take us some time.
Everything should be working correctly with an older version of Photoshop or as the linked article suggests with Rosetta 2.
Best,
Alzbeta

One feature we would like to use is uploading to specific locations. It us unclear if/how this is possible however. I added a location using a location plugin but I am not sure how to specify what location ftrack connect is uploading to. In fact, it seems to always just upload to ftrack.unmanaged and keep my local filepath. Do I need to create a custom action for uploading to alternative locations outside of the action provided by ftrack connect or is there a way to specify where connect uploads to?
Secondly, we would love to use the integrations with Adobe, and later on other software as well. But it is very unclear how this works. I downloaded the ftrack plugin for adobe and the connect plugin. I can start photoshop from connect but the ftrack plugin is not located in the adobe plugins list. I tracked it down under Window -> Extensions (Legacy) put it just comes up with an error screen saying Connect is not running even when it is. Clicking any of the links on the plugin (screenshot attached) does not seem to do anything either.
However I am still unable to import from these locations. I even tried assigning the task to myself to see if it was a permission error or something. I also noticed when I did this it did not appear in the "My Tasks" tab of the extension:
Hi @Evan Hale if the location is found in connect, but not in the integration, is likely you are just registering just to the configure-location.
Please try to add these lines too and see if does work:
subscribing to these events should nake the location within the integrations too.
here the location where this snippet has been taken from, so you have full reference
Hope it helps
L.
Most existing plugins and panels for Photoshop are designed with a technology called CEP, but with the launch of the M1, Adobe has switched to using UXP for everything, which is supposed to make things more secure.
This is a pretty easy workaround for most situations, however, it is possible you might experience some significant slowdowns and excessive memory usage when running Photoshop in this mode. In my case, even working on just a single large PSD file, the system could not even perform a quick selection and mask without running out of RAM.
For those struggling as I was, there did not seem to be a lot of answers to easily fix this issue. However, San Diego photographer Joshua Mitchell discovered that simply rolling back Photoshop to version 22.2.0 was a way to get things working again.
From this screen, you can choose to install an older version of Adobe Photoshop, going back as far as six previous updates. Keep in mind, this will remove the current/updated version you have installed, but any previous or legacy versions of your plugins and extensions should show up again when you reopen the application.
If plugins and panels are key to your workflow, staying a version or two behind while we wait for updates to the extensions to be made is a fairly small price to pay. Hopefully, Adobe will launch an update by mid to late May 2021 that will allow you to jump back up to the latest version of Photoshop and still gain access to your extensions and plugins. Until then, this is a great solution.
I'm currently trying to get a handle on using render passes in MR. I'm using the options under Scene > Cameras > Passes, and rendering out to an .EXR file as detailed here: Set up mental ray scene passes
I batch render and create the .EXR, but I can't find out how to separate the individual layers created (or if there are even layers being created) because the "Load Render Pass" option in the Render View > File menu is greyed out.
I used Contribution maps and layered PSD files before to try to achieve an effect but had a lot of difficultly adding up my layers to match my beauty pass. They looked nothing like it and I couldn't quite figure it out so I felt that maybe the new MR interface for this would be more robust and simpler.
Thanks for the video. I am attempting the legacy pass after I failed to grasp the new pass system. I would prefer to know how to use the most up-to-date pass management iteration they've released but there isn't very robust documentation of it that I can find, outside of some somwhat obtuse literature.
