On behalf of the Steering Committee of the Illinois Birth Center Task
Force, it is with great joy I announce that today Governor Blagojevich
SIGNED INTO LAW SB 264 The Safe Childbirth Act-Freestanding Birth
Centers! SB 264 has been approved, and can be viewed as Public Act
95-0445 on the website:

Now the work of writing the Rules and Regulations will begin.

But for now...

We CELEBRATE a new safe birthing option for the women of Illinois.
