Attention all Illinois Birth Center Supporters! The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review board will be reviewing the FIRST BIRTH CENTER APPLICATION at their next Board meeting on February 5, 2013 in Bolingbrook (http://www.hfsrb.illinois.gov/ihfsrbmeetings.htm).
The application was submitted by PCC South (Berwyn, IL).
More details next week!

What should we say regarding support for the center? Is there any information about the center and the organization PCC South?

The executive members of the Birth Center Task Force are gathering more information about the process and will make more specific recommendations as soon as possible!

Birth Center supporters who would like to attend and give testimony of support for the approval of PCC South Certificate of Need application must PRE-register with the HFSRB by submitting the completed and signed HEALTH FACILITIES AND SERVICES REVIEW BOARD PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FORM (attached) by 5pm tomorrow, Wednesday January 16.
Letters of support can be sent to the Administrator for the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, Courtney Avery: courtney.avery@illinois.gov or fax to 217-785-4111.
We are hoping for and expecting a positive outcome. We are awaiting the State Agency Report, which will become available by January 24th. Once we review the state report we will have a better idea of the likelihood of HFSRB approval. We have learned that supportive letters and brief presentations are appreciated by the board.
