Dassault Systemes SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer is a free utility used to view, print, and review eDrawings files. The desktop version is available for Windows and macOS, while the mobile version of eDrawings is available for purchase for Android and iOS.
eDrawings Viewer supports AutoCAD .DWG and .DXF files, along with SolidWorks files. After opening your file, you can open individual views and arrange them however you want, regardless of how the views were previously arranged in the original drawing. The viewer provides dynamic viewing capabilities of 3D models as you automatically rotate through each drawing view. The program is also able to compare the same location of a model in different views by identifying and matching geometry in various drawing views.
As you view design analysis results created by SolidWorks Simulation or review output from SolidWorks Plastics, you can easily share them with others through the application. When you are finished viewing the modes, eDrawings Viewer allows you to save eDrawings files in the STL, TIFF, JPEG, and BMP formats for rapid prototyping and presentation purposes.
eDrawings Viewer is a helpful utility that provides a variety of capabilities. If you need a free solution for viewing, printing, and reviewing eDrawings and AutoCAD DWG and DXF files, Dassault Systemes SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer is a great choice.
Ideally we would like to create the work instructions in a similar environment to a 3D modeling app, then paste in the resulting work instruction as a single image in Tulip. Again, not really critical to operations, just curious to hear how people are managing their libraries of work instructions.
Hi Gio. We are using CATIA V6 on-cloud (aka 3DEXPERIENCE). It has a web-based model viewer, but being Dassault, they do not allow hosting web apps in other pages. We are playing with using the Fusion hosted viewer and that works pretty well. We got that sample from somewhere on the community forums.

Advances in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technology have profoundly altered how businesses handle product development. The gains are manifold: streamlined development processes, enhanced collaboration among diverse teams, and boosted efficiency and productivity. KISTERS, a CAD viewer solution leader, provides advanced 3D CAD visualization, analysis, and Digital MockUp (DMU) through 3DViewStation. This integrates seamlessly with Enovia 3DExperience and SmarTeam from Dassault Systems.
Users of 3DViewStation enjoy a scalable visualization solution, allowing them to swiftly load and analyze CAD data. While Dassault entices some with free viewers like eDrawings and 3D XML Player, they often fall short of users' needs for a more refined visualization tool. Integrating 3DViewStation with Enovia 3DExperience and SmarTeam ensures Catia and Solidworks users can make quicker, more reliable decisions. They're aided by a user-friendly tool packed with features tailored to every product lifecycle stage.
3DViewStation isn't just a multi-CAD viewer supporting Catia. It also supports a plethora of other 3D and 2D CAD formats, including Office files and images. Within SmarTeam, it runs as a preview viewer, yet can also operate with a full interface in its own window. In 3DExperience, the Kisters 3DViewStation WebViewer version is employed, enabling online multi-user collaboration. Its APIs facilitate asynchronous work, and a module supports real-time collaboration.
Incorporating 3DViewStation into Dassault's PLM systems offers Catia and Solidworks users a scalable visualization solution for rapid CAD data loading and analysis. Benefits span fast multi-CAD visualization, a viewer for various 3D CAD data and 2D drawings, advanced interactive features, intuitive operation, and ease of use. Ideal for users keen on swift, reliable decision-making and collaborative teams aiming for efficient, productive work, the integration of 3DViewStation into Dassault's PLM systems is essential for businesses aiming to elevate their product design and development process efficiency.
CAD Interop has gained over 25 years experience in the CAD data exchange domain, participating in many important European customers projects. We are reseller of ITI (CADfix, CADIQ, DEXcenter, Proficiency), Kisters (3DViewStation), CADEX-SOFT (CAD Exchanger), SimLab (Composer and VR STudio) and Draftware (DraftView) editors. We offer a full range of products or services that can effectively meet your CAD interoperability needs.
Those who use 3DViewStation integrated with Enovia 3DExperience or SmarTeam offer their users a future-proof visualization solution for quickly loading and analyzing CAD data. Even though Dassault is picking up some customers with the free viewers eDrawings and 3D XML Player, there is still a big gap to the user requirements for a view tool. With the integrations of our View software into these PDM and PLM platforms, especially Catia and Solidworks users are able to make decisions faster and more reliably. This is because 3DViewStation is not only fast, but also provides exactly the functionality that PLM users need at all stages of the product lifecycle - and is easy to use.
Since SmartTeam is a fat client as a classic application, our Kisters 3D ViewStation Desktop version is used there. This multi-CAD viewer supports Catia excellently, but many other 3D CAD and 2D formats up to Office and images. Within SmarTeam, 3DView Station runs embedded as a preview viewer, but it can also run with full interface in its own window. Since 3D Experience is a web-based application, the Kisters 3DViewStation WebViewer version is used here. Often it is a disadvantage to use web instead of desktop versions. Not so with Kisters. The 3D View Station desktop and WebViewer versions are functionally almost identical. Users do not have to get used to a change from desktop to web. If online collaboration is also desired, the 3DViewStation WebViewer version is the better choice anyway. It has everything you need built in: either APIs to work asynchronously or a module for real-time collaboration with multiple users.
When visualizing 3D CAD data within 3DExperience and SmarTeam, the problem arises that one can hardly or not at all accomplish the intended tasks with the viewing solutions offered by default. There are problems with the performance already with normal assembly sizes, but also with insufficient functionalities or the outdated user interface.
It is very fast and can handle Catia as well as other native CAD and standard formats. The 3DViewStation is integrated as the WebViewer version in 3DExperience, as the desktop version in SmarTeam, but currently not yet in Delmia. This provides all users with the complete range of functionalities and tools from the usual measuring, dimensioning, cutting, creation of new views to advanced analysis, 3D comparison and Digital MockUp (DMU).
Well-known customers from the transportation (e.g. trains, rail vehicles), aerospace and automotive industries are already using Kisters 3DViewStation together with Dassault PLM solutions. Once 3DViewStsation is in place, it is additionally used integrated with other systems, such as parts catalogs or product configurators, and also without integration: the desktop version by power users on notebooks, the WebViewer version by occasional users or traveling colleagues on tablets and smartphones. The server(s) of the Kisters 3DViewStation WebViewer version can run on premises, i.e. on your own infrastructure, or in the cloud. Only you as a customer decide.
If you are interested in our 3DViewStation View software, please contact us directly. We do not offer our products in a shop, which you can quickly check with Google. Only authorized partners and integrators are allowed to sell our software. But then they have to provide support for the integration itself and post sales at least first level support for our software. Some of our professional partners come from CAM, some sell Solidcam, others Tebis. They also sell 3DViewStation, e.g. for quotation calculation, even before the data is imported into CAM or PLM Management Platform.
You need a special customization of our 3DViewStation? Or do you have additional requirements for your integration? Then let us discuss them with you. Our experienced consultants have already helped in many actions to implement even more unusual or complicated requirements. We support the team that implements the solution: either your own people or an external service provider or integrator.
Due to its slim format, 3D data can be easily accessed from mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets.
