Hello Cyclists!

First of all….a BIG thank you to the CyclePaths of Monroeville for putting on an incredible ride this weekend that benefited Camp SAM! The CyclePaths Challenge was awesome! Thank you to everyone who participated in this event and worked so hard to make it happen!

Now….We are about six weeks away from the opening of Camp season and 2016 Ride of Love! As most of you know, the Ride of Love has grown into much more than a fundraiser, it has become an integral part of Camp Smile-A-Mile’s programming that the children and families cherish. The funds raised directly support Camp SAM’s year round programs for children with cancer! The impact the cyclists make on the children lasts a lifetime!

To celebrate the approaching camp season, we want to share a quick video with you that includes photos so you can see what you and the Ride of Love help make possible!

As of today, we have 37 cyclists registered – many have already exceeded their fundraising goals! Wahooo!!!! Great job!

Jerseys:
We plan to order jerseys this week! If you have not signed up for the ride and want a jersey, please let us know. We want to make sure to order enough of the correct sizes.

About Ride of Love:
How is the Ride of Love special?

During the Ride of Love, the group of cyclists stay together the entire course. You help keep each other motivated and there is a real sense of comradery. Each cyclist will carry a memory card that has the photos of campers we have lost to cancer this year. Cyclists take them to camp one last time. At the conclusion of the ride, all of the cyclists arrive at camp together and are cheered on by children who are on treatment for cancer at On Therapy Family Camp. There is a presentation and cyclists are able to take showers before having dinner with the children and families. Cyclists’ families are welcome to attend to share in this special occasion.
