Hey you wanna do a special ride this spring....look no further than the RIDE OF LOVE. Dad gum next it next year I am back in on this one. It's a special ride that is beyond words. It's not to late for you to put this one on the front burner and get her going. I'll be with you in spirit :)
Hello Cyclists!
We are less than a month away from the 2017 Ride of Love!
We are getting so excited and everything is coming together for transportation and some amazing stops! We have more than 60 people signed up so far for on Therapy Family Camp. We expect many more families to sign up to attend, and they will all be there to greet you when you ride into camp!
Some quick notes-
Ride of Love:
153 mile and 75 mile route options
We start the day with a wonderful complimentary breakfast from IHOP. The ride starts promptly at 6 a.m. The group rides together the whole way at a pace that’s about 16 mph. The ride is fully supported by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department, NorthStar Ambulance, Cahaba Cycles (Andrew Garza) and University of Alabama Rec Department (sag). There are six scheduled stops along the way that are stocked with food and hydration. You will ride into On Therapy Family Camp. We will have a quick ceremony, and you will have the opportunity to shower and then have dinner with the families who benefit from the programs you are helping make possible. All of the funds raised by the Ride of Love support Smile-A-Mile’s year-round programs that serve families in Alabama who are affected by childhood cancer.

$25 registration fee (includes jersey for first year participants)
Each cyclist is required to raise at least $250 that will directly support Smile-A-Mile. Most cyclists crush this goal and raise lots more!

Hotel:
We have a block of rooms reserved at a special $99 discounted rate at the Fairfield Inn in Tuscaloosa. In order to get this special rate, you must book by May 1. To reserve your room, call (205) 366-0900 and say you are with the Ride of Love group.

Family at Camp:
We welcome your family to be at camp to see you arrive. You will want them to experience this special moment! We will need to know a count for food, so please let us know ASAP. I’ll give you more instructions closer to the ride as to when they need to arrive…etc…

Caravan Back to Birmingham and Tuscaloosa:
As always, we will have the “party bus” taking people back to the Cracker Barrel on 280 and to Tuscaloosa. Please let me know if you plan on riding the bus back to Birmingham or Tuscaloosa.

The Cheaha Challenge is on May 21. For those of you beasts who plan to do both, you will be recognized and will receive this awesome hat. Thank you Cheaha Challenge for partnering with us! Meredith will be taking some of you from the ROL to Anniston for Cheaha Challenge. Space is limited, so let us know ASAP if you would like a ride.
