Heads Up from Don:
Dirt, this is Don Bemowski. Today (2/21) at 11am my friend Vic and I were riding in Mtn Brook on Victoria road, just before Crosshill and Old Leeds road. We were chased by a young black lab and Vic got bit on his calf. I have been notified by a neighbor that this dog has bitten other people in the neighborhood. This is a popular road by many cyclist on Tuesday nights in the spring. This is a new dog to the neighborhood and sounds like a recent issue on this street. Rider beware. Can you share this if you feel it's worthy news?

Greeting, Dirt :)
This is to ask you to help us promote a new ride: the Children's Home Challenge, sponsored by the Presbyterian Home for Children and set for Saturday, October 15th, with ride options of 30, 60, and 100 miles, starting and ending on our campus in Talladega. (See attachment.) More details to follow but, in the meantime, thank you for all you do to keep the cycling community connected and informed.
Shalom!

Spring is just around the corner and worlds ride begins in March! Be Ready for it with this....I have a 2014 Women's Specialized Amira Comp for sale! I am original owner. SEE LINK FOR more detailed SPECS. But is has Shimano Ultegra brakes, shifters, derailleur, and cassette. Its an 11 speed with an 11-28 cassette. Chainrings are 50/34 (compact). Brakes are AXIS 2.0 front and back. Its a 54 size frame. The handlebars have been changed out from the original. They were changed since the original ones were too narrow for me (they are aluminum and I bought them at Bobs for around $65) but I have the original ones and will include them along with ones that are currently on it. The tape is now black. I will include Pedals as well which are speed plays. Frame is in great condition and has no cracks. Some "shoe rub" I would call it on the sides of cranks, scratches on bottom part of cranks and small scratch on the skewer on the back wheel. It has been very well maintained through Bob's Bikes as Jason Barksdale has done all the work. It was just given a check up by them on (1/16/16). The shop says there is a "click" sound that is coming from the rear hub body. I did have the brake pads replaced as well as a brand new chain. Check up, brake pads and chain cost me $131 and are brand spanking new with no miles. So again asking $1580 OBO for bike, with 2 sets of handlebars, pedals and with brand new brake pads, chain with check up on 1/16/16. This is a great bike for a great price. Here is link to specs.

Great DEAL on a 29'er
Looking to sell my 29er hardtail. Size XL, Trek X-cal, aluminum frame in great shape, mostly stock with some replacement parts that are as good or better than stock. One big upgrade was to Shimano Mt75 29Er Disc Ust Wheelset and tubeless tires in late 2013. Haven't ridden this in a year, since getting a full suspension bike last January. Additional details and pictures available on request. New, the bike retailed for around $1500, wheelset was maybe $350. Since it's about 7 years old, I'm thinking the neighborhood of $750 is fair, given the low mileage on the wheelset. If you know anyone interested, please pass this along and/or contact me.
