Elena,

I would like to invite you and the Birmingham OLPC User/Interest Group to the upcoming Family Tech Day which will take place March 29th in Birmingham, Alabama.  The event is designed to encourage youth to consider career opportunities in technology as well as showcase some of the latest technology from area companies.  Vendor participation is free and we are expecting a great turnout. The event is brought to you by Acipco, The City of Birmingham - Division of Youth Services, Bright House Networks and the UAB Computer Science Department.   We are targeting an audience of IT professionals, business owners, students (all ages) which includes graduating high school seniors, educators, community leaders and families.

This could be a great opportunity for your group to reach out to the young people that will be receiving the XO Laptops.

For more information you can visit the Family Tech Day website at www.familytechday.com.  There you will also find a list of participating vendors to date.

I look forward to your response.

Hello Russ,
It is good to hear from you. I took a look at the Family Tech Day website -- it looks like there will be a lot going on! Would you like our group to be a vendor and have a table? Or are you just inviting us to visit the event?
Best Regards,
Elena

Elena,

It would be great to have you on as a vendor to share your knowledge about Linux and the XO Laptop with attendees.  You should have a captive audience considering the 15K laptops that have been purchased for Birmingham City School students.  Let me know and I will add your group as a participating vendor.

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russ,
I will be contacting you outside of this group message board to
discuss getting our group set up as a vendor at the Family Tech Day.
Once we have the details worked out, I will post that information to
this group.
Thanks!
Elena
