*Overview*
The group has multifaceted interests, two of the main ones are:
1) Both influencing and giving education to community, public, schools,
government.
2) Microcomputers/controllers and their programming, electronics, robotics.
These is also interest in two types of regular meetings:
1) talks/presentations/theory/demonstrations.
2) hands on practical doing and hacking sessions.
Perhaps the meetings could alternate.
A first meeting was proposed for the last week of February pending:
*Issues to be resolved*
*Mailing List & Website* Are a priority for group infrastructure and
communication. They will probably be set up soon after 11th February
when our Server-Masters return from their holiday, so we have to be
patient for a little while.
*Venue* To be arranged.
- City centre (Coventry) location preferably.
- Some people would like to bring their children along, hence pubs are
no go areas after 7pm.
- The Council House has meeting rooms available for free in the evenings.
- For weekends The Herbert museum is a good venue with cafe, they have
decent meeting and work rooms (may allow soldering in some) but payment
may be required?
*Day of meeting* Needs to be chosen.
- May be best done once the group mailing list is set up.
- Ideally a day that suits a majority.
- Not a Wednesday as that clashes with fizzPOP.
- Saturdays and Sundays have been suggested also (but please not over
lunchtime 12:00 to 14:00).
- Weekends may suit practical meetings and weekdays the talks?
*Name* To be decided.
- Please suggest and discuss some names that express the interests of
the group.
- As people are interested in the group beyond the bounds of Coventry
perhaps having 'Cov' in the name is not appropriate, instead perhaps
Mercia or Meridian or CW for Coventry and Warwickshire? Or an acronym?
MOSHEE - Microcomputers Open Source Hardware Electronics and Education.
