Update: course lengths, fire, & dinner

The vetting and course design is nearly done, so here are the course
lengths, climb, and map scale, which are pretty stable now, but may
still change slightly.

There was a wild fire in the Birkhead Wilderness over the weekend, but
the fire burned only about 50 acres, and reports from the field
indicate that it was restricted to fuel on the ground and was not hot
enough to kill any mature trees. We believe, from the reports, that
it is on one edge of our model map and does not affect the competition
map which is over 2km from the fire area. We will be in the area this
weekend and will know for sure where the fire was. We'll let you know
early next week if it will affect the event.

We have finalized the dinner plans. The dinner will be held at one of
Asheboro's best restaurants, "Something Different" . We will have a
buffet with: Chicken quarters, salad, mixed vegetables, spaghetti,
bread, sweet and unsweetened tea, lemon-aid, water and banana pudding.

The t-shirt design is nearly done. We'll post the design and alert
you as soon as we get it up.
