Whom to contact for complaint about bad roads

Hi 

I need some information from you guys.

I want to complain about extremely bad state of roads in my locality. Few days ago i lodged a complaint on Grievance Portal: pgportal.gov.in but I am not very hopeful about quick response on that.

Can anyone please tell me whom should we approach wrt to this issue and what is the procedure?

The roads within the city are being maintained by GHMC. For any maintenance of the same, we have to report to GHMC under the specific zone.

 

alternatively, you can file an RTI with the PIO of that zone, asking him details about the person responsible for maintaining the road (the one you are talking about) , how much was allocated to the maintenance of the road in the last few years or so (just to know whether any allocation was made for maintaining the same), etc.

 

this might prompt them to act sometimes ...

Hello All

The roads are catergoriezed as below :

Panchayat Department : Generally village roads

R&B - Roads and Building : The state high way roads.

NH5 - National highway roads ( Connecting cities or passing through states )

Municipality raods - The internal street roads in that respective municipality.

Irrigation Department look after some of them ( Which are next to major canals ).

 

For GHMC roads you can complaint on the below link :

If you don't get any reply or no action seen in 10 days of time, you can file RTI askign the actions taken on your complaint.

 

For other roads you need to submit a complaint by hand on a white paper in the inward section of the respective government offic.
