I am Sushmitha. Me and Sai Sivaram(from Intergraph) visited Gracious paradise charitable foundation yesterday.

I will give a brief summary of my visit. On Feb 5th we are planning to go on behalf of ASWA team again.

1> There are 55 children (16 girls and 39 boys, only 8 children of age above 11 years). They are mostly orphans/semi-orphans, mostly from the region of Warangal and Hyderabad.

2> Warden boy stays 24/7 with the kids. They are very well disciplined.

3> Students till 5th standard attend the school in same building which has 3 teaches, 2 ayahs and one cook. Students above 5th class attend near by govt. schools(only 8 such students are present).

4> They have school from 9:30 till 3:30 and later get refreshed and go to near-by free park to play from 4:30 to 6:30. Come back have prayer for an hour(christian prayers). Then they have dinner at 7:30 and sleep.

5> Building is a 2-storeyed one. Boys sleep in ground floor and girls in the first floor. Building is owned. In the second floor, wall and shelf's are being constructed now, for children's usage.

6> They are running this mostly with donations from everyone. And their expenses are:

a> Food Requirements: 55000 per month
b> Salaries for staff : 7 * 3000 = 21000 per month
Presently the are in need for these basic necessities with food as first preference (as, staff can understand the position and wait for sometime to take salaries).

7> The children are very good. They have good talent in singing and dancing and well behavioral.

8> There is no TV / RADIO in the home (this is may be a good thing because, children don't waste time before TV and rather they go out and play and they have good interaction with each other).

9> They are adjusted to eat whatever is provided to them.

10> If any one is interested to support them financially, they can sponsor for a kid. Amount is 5000/year.

The place is very good to visit and we can carry eatables during the visit. Also, park is very near and we can conduct some game and give prizes to them. Even we can sponsor food for a day for the kids, costing- 3000/month (veg) & 4000/month (non-veg).


Present Requirements:

1> Food (either direct money or in the form of groceries)
2> Salaries
3> As mentioned earlier, construction of shelf's is taking place in the second floor and they are interested to have cup-boards built if any donor comes.
4> Painting for the wall being constructed on second floor.
