Hello Friends,
Greetings.
This evening I visited Shirdi Sai Orphanage in Kukatpally. Maruti of
Vitarana group joined later with two of his friends.
Direction:
Take the lane opposite Chandana Brothers and beside Remedy Hospitals
and it will go straight to Venkateswara Temple. If you go straight,
you will see Kanakadurga temple. Exactly opp. the temple there is a
small lane and on the right side, this is the second one and the first
one being a hair salon. There is a small std booth on the road.
Details:
When I rang to Sri Raghunath he told that he will be going out of
station by 8:30 pm bus and also he has to go to a Bhajan near
Malaysian Township. So when I went there around 5, 5:15 pm, Smt.
Raghunath was there. She was busy preparing for the trip.
The children were having their evening food: Pulihora. I too was given
it and ate with them.
I couldn't get any details of the orphanage as Smt. Raghunath told
that it would be good if we listen from Sri Raghunath only. She told
that she takes care of the children and if she needs anything for
them, she will ask him. Other than that she does not know anything.
They started it due to some incident/experience of Sri Raghunath and
he brought two children home. Later the count multiplied, 4, 8, 16 as
such. Now there are around 32 children.
I have to say this is also a religious orphanage, Hindu, rather Shirdi
Baba's follower's orphanage. Even their names are also appended by the
tag, Sai. They did sing bhajans. They greet us as Sai Ram Annayya, Sai
Ram Akkayya.
As usual, all the children are very active and they told English and
Telugu Rhymes. Maruti taught them 'Enugamma Enugu' and they readily
byhearted it and they kept on repeating it so as not to forget.
They were actually watching the TV when I went there and after few
minutes when I asked them to switch it off, they immediately turned it
off.
Nothing much to say about the orphanage as of now because we do not
know any details. We get to know when we meet Sri Raghunath.
This visit taught me few lessons. May be I will write in my blog as
this is not the medium to share personal feelings.
This is also a good 'religious' orphanage if not Christian, Hindu
rather secular for Shirdi Baba being a secular god who does not belong
to any religion in particular, a manifestation of god in the mere
sense of god.
