Why this is important:
With Tetra4D Converter you can share your 3D CAD data, controlling what data is included such as precise solid geometry, PMI/views and meta-data, in a highly compressed viewable format. And because Adobe Reader is installed on 98% of desktops worldwide, anyone needing to view your 3D data already has all the software they need.

DID YOU KNOW: Looking to add more to your 3D PDF? Our Tetra4D Enrich software lets you easily customize templates, add tables and view thumbnails, and combine different types of product data!

No need to own or learn to use expensive 3D CAD systems. With Tetra4D Converter you can accurately convert 3D data from the latest versions of CATIA, Pro/E, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, and all other major CAD applications to 3D PDF directly inside Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Tetra4D Converter provides the tools you need to share Model Based Designs with suppliers, with full support for import of PMI data such as dimensions, tolerances, annotations and intelligent PMI view states.

Given the ubiquity of Adobe Reader, 3D PDF files can be viewed, commented on and shared by virtually anyone. Creation of views, measurements and sectioning functions make collaboration simple and efficient.

Tetra4D Converter has an improved license manager for versions 2016 and up. Major releases will require a new serial number for all users. Please contact sup...@tetra4d.com if you have any questions regarding your license.

Headquartered in Bend, OR, the Tetra4D line of products are developed by Tech Soft 3D, a leading provider of software development tools for almost 20 years. Learn more about Tech Soft 3D here.

When I install Tetra4d in my 32bit windows the icon appears in acrobat tool and it works,
but installing Tetra4d in a 64bit windows, no icon appears in acrobat, can someone tell me
what the problem is.

Hi - Thank you for the answer. I am wondering what is the compatibility issue. The installation guide tells Tetra4D converter requires Adobe Pro DC. I buy it and after installation it turns out it is incompatible and I need something different. This sounds suspicious.

Hello everybody,
I have the same problem. I can not use my Tetra4D because it did not appear in the TOOLS.
Anybody has already solved this probleme? What about Tetra4D support. Could you help please?
Thank you in advance.

It gets really strange: If different Windows users are trying to use Acrobat and Tetra4D on the same machine there is a different behaviour. Some users can see the icon under tools and others not.
Deleting all Acrobat/Tetra settings in the user directories did not solve the problem.

As you are the Tetra4D support representative I recommend that when requesting a regedit modification that you state that the regedit should be backed up first. Missing this out myself I had to reinstall all my Adobe products again after Acrobat failed to open at all after your recommended changes.

However, I am not able to figure out how to convert a wav file into tetra codec files using these files. I tried going through the documentation of the compiled files (ccoder, cdecoder, scoder, sdecoder).

For an input file of size 13M, I obtained serial_file and synth_file of size 8.0M and 16M. However, I thought since the wav file is getting converted into a walkie-talkie type signal the output file size will be alot smaller.

traditionally ETSI code use very unefficent output format where instead of bits they output textual or expanded representation of those bits. I.e. instead of a bit they write a word of 16-bit where all the bits are 0 and the last one has information. They do it to interface with their transmission corruption test tools I presume.

I ordered a tetra 150 off ebay and received a 300. Opened it to see if it was the same to convert, but it's a little diffferent. Found a way to convert it to a vacuum without doing much, but I'm wondering if anyone else has done it, and if so, how.

The new pumps do not look as easy to rebuild as the old models were. I do not want to damage the pumping mechanism by disassembling it the wrong way. I called the Tetra customer service number and asked about the correct way to replace the diaphragms on the new system. He asked how many pumps I bought and then said he would send me a rebuild kit gratis because the replacement instructions are only included in the rebuild kits. I will wait until I get the rebuild kit/instructions before I make any significant modifications.

If you are patient for disassembly, modification and re-assembly; the AP-150 can be modified for suction with minimal changes. I just did it. The air output jet now sucks air. I am assuming your AP-300 has the similar clear plate setup between the diaphragms.

The clear plates can be rotated 180 degrees and re-attached. But you have to file a small groove in each of the clear plates so they will align with one another when flipped 180. The magnets do clatter a bit when max. suction is reached.

Hey Gdaddy, I can feel the suction of the intake. Thought it would suck harder. Although, I have no idea how much is enough by touch. How hard does the suction on your old-style 150 unit feel against your finger tip? How big a coin can you lift with it without out it falling off?

The modification is fairly simple. But re-assembly is tedious and at times a b!tch, several tiny screws with hole alignment needed between the two clear plates. For this modification, pictures are worth a thousand words. Bottom line the new 150s and 300s can be converted. I need to work on the magnet clatter, maybe some O-ring collars to keep the diaphragms farther appart.

@ Drzoidberg, air-flow rate is very low with these pumps. Not nearly enough air flow from these pumps to generate any venturi suction. As Gdaddy says, this is a hack setup (shed tech) using what you have in the closet. Got two new 150s on-line for approx. $25 each a year ago.

These Whisper aquarium air pumps are designed to run continuously 24/7/365 for several years with little or no maintenance. But air flow is slow. Gdaddy says he pulls 10-11 inches. I will assume he means inches of mercury. I have used Whisper air pumps over several decades for aquarium and slightly larger aquatic tank biofilters and airlift water circulation

I used a vacuum guage to test the capacity of this rig when bagging a 7ft board. The guage said 11" HG and that was including the reserve tank it was attached to (a modified 5 gallon compressed air tank from Harbor Freight) That 11" is less than half of what I was getting out of the 2hp industrial pump I was using before.

Some time ago, I used Adobe Reader (the basic one) to view and rotate a 3D model from Autocad. Yes, I know that I can export a Revit model into a DWFX and view it in Design Review, but that requires a ferr Design Review download. Some clients don't have administrator rights, are too lazy, don't have the computer savy to install, etc..., so a PDF 3D model would be nice.

I too would like to see a utility to export to a 3d PDF, but Autodesk seem to just try and push DWF and don't care that 3d PDF is much more universal. I see that Tetra 4D is releasing a 3d pdf converter for Adobe Pro x this month, What I don't understand is the compatibility chart. Does anyone know what tessellation and BREP mean in terms of conversion to 3d PDF?

I called Adobe support and I was told that "Adobe 9 Pro Extended" can import Autocad models but not the latest "Adobe 10 X Pro". Funny though. So I guess I need to go back to my reseller to bitch & moan. Then I can export Revit models to Autocad so Adobe can pick this up.

I do not have Acrobat Pro to verify, but I believe it will open IFC files, correct? I know 9 could - _and_building_informati.html. If so, you can just export your Revit model to IFC to be opened in Acrobat.

During my online research of CAD users requirements of PDF, I stumbled across this forum and some interesting questions. As CTO at Tetra 4D, and responsible for the roadmap relative to the abilities to support 3D PDF creation questions such as these drive a lot of value relative to the software future direction.

3D PDF Converter for Acrobat X Pro, is the next generation solution for converting 3D CAD data to rich interactive 3D PDF documents. It replaces the capabilities that were available as part of the "Pro Extended" Acrobat 9 product.

If so, what would be an acceptable work flow, the author using 3D PDF Converter to create a 3D PDF to send to someone with a free Acrobat Reader, or the ability to send a Revit file to someone with 3D PDF Converter??

Also - Tessellation is the ability to reduce the polygon count of a model, there by reducing the size of file and increasing visual performance. Obviously it is very complicated, but on the surface you can think of it like compressing a JPG.

By having both a tessellated and B-Rep definition, you can create a small file, suitable for high performance visualization, yet still have the mathematical definition, which allows actions like precise measurements to be take of the data.

I guess I'm unobservant. Someone was talking about 4D and I didn't catch that. I'm just dealing with 3D, but, 4D is a 3D model that has intellegent information along with it, such as the ability to access schedules and quantities.

Jim Merry here from Tetra 4D. We at Tetra 4D are ex-Adobe folks who spun out with the 3D Converstion technology formerly available in Acrobat Pro Extended version 9 (APEX 9). APEX 9 cost about $899 and I believe you can still buy it but the 3D converters are stale; they were last updated in fall of 2009 and will not be updated any further. Tetra 4D's 3D PDF Converter is built on the Adobe APEX 9 core technology but it has been updated it and improved. We sell it as a plug-in for Acrobat X Pro. The combination of Acrobat X Pro + Tetra 4D's 3D Converter is in the same ballpark as APEX 9 cost.

requires Adobe Acrobat Pro EXTENDED version 9, not Acrobat Pro. Acrobat Pro only reads U3D and PRC 3D formats. You need the extended version to get the 3D conversion capabilities. (Also - APEX v9 supported 3D DWG.)
