Birding Kingsport - November Update

Twenty-four folks attended our October monthly meeting. Attached are the minutes from the meeting.
Mark your calendars for these dates:
December 13 – Christmas social from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. RSVP to Betty so we can plan the amount of food. Menu will be chicken salad croissants, cheese tray, pecan cranberry rolls, sausage balls, chips & dip, and desserts. Bring your own drink and remember adult beverages are allowed.
December 18 – Christmas Bird Count – You can come out and join a team or monitor a feeder watch at your home. All levels of interest are welcome. RSVP to Betty.
April 18 - Warriors Path State Parks’ 47th Annual Spring Nature Festival. We will be doing an introductory program followed by a bird walk that morning. Last year’s event was well attended!
May 1-3 - TOS Spring Meeting in Kingsport
Southeastern Avian Research has an ongoing “Winter Hummingbird” project through March 15. Visit www.southeasternavianresearch.org (or scan the QR code in the attachment) for suggestions on caring for your feeders and contact Cyndi Routledge if you’re lucky enough to host a rare visitor in your yard this winter.
One slot is open for the March 2026 birding trip to Costa Rica. It is an awesome itinerary tailored for a small group of only eight people. Let Betty know if you are interested. The booking deadline is the first of December.
