December 13 – Christmas social from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. RSVP to Betty (if you haven’t already) so we can plan the amount of food. Menu will be chicken salad croissants, cheese tray, pecan cranberry rolls, sausage balls, chips & dip, and desserts. Bring your own drink and remember adult beverages are allowed.
December 18 – Audubon’s 126th Annual Christmas Bird Count – Come out and join a team or monitor a feeder watch at your home. All levels of interest are welcome. RSVP to Betty. The CBC began in 1900, and the hemispheric bird count is one of the longest-running formal community science projects. Over 83,100 volunteers participated in the last Christmas Bird Count, surveying 2,693 circles (unique local groups) and counting over 44 million birds representing over 2,500 species.
It’s time to collect dues for next year. A separate email was sent on November 26.
Wilderness Wildlife Week is January 5-8 in Pigeon Forge.
Our January monthly meeting will be on the 27th. The program will be presented by Mark Armstrong of East Tennessee Avian Research, Inc.
