Birding Kingsport - March Update

Thirty-seven attendees (including two guests) were treated to a great program in February by Mark Armstrong.
Our next monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church located at 584 Lebanon Road in Colonial Heights. The program is “Birds of Australia” by Shahram Malik. Dinner and social will be at Riverfront Seafood at 4:45 p.m. Please RSVP to Betty by 3/23 so we can reserve a table. Join us at 3:30 p.m. at the BK kiosk near the underpass for a walk along the Greenbelt/KBT.

Saturday, April 18 – Bill Grigsby will be doing a “Birding 101” program at 7:30 a.m. for Warriors Path’s 47th Annual Spring Nature Festival. Following the program, we’ll do a bird walk at 8:00 a.m. Meeting location is the building near the marina. Come out and join us.
May 1-3 – TOS Spring Meeting hosted by our club. Get your reservations early and join us for a special weekend.
May 9 – Global Big Day – We’ll plan a walk or field trip to celebrate.
Plan to get your hummingbird feeders out soon. While the “bulk” of the migration typically hits our area around mid-April, first arrivals (usually males) are expected as early as the last week of March.
