Our next monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, January 27 at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church located at 584 Lebanon Road in Colonial Heights. The program is “Winter Hummingbirds” by Mark Armstrong of East Tennessee Avian Research. He’ll talk about the species he has banded and the Motus station (an automated radio-telemetry receiver used to track the movement of migratory wildlife). Dinner and social will be at Raffaele’s at 5:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Betty by 1/26 so we can request tables put together when we arrive.

Birding Kingsport TOS dues will be taken up at the January meeting or you can mail a check to Ken Hendrix, 1016 Oldham Ct., Kingsport, TN 37660. Remember to include any changes for the membership roster – email, phone, and home address.

Individual - $28
Family - $32
Sustaining - $40
Associate - $10 (paying TOS membership through another chapter)
Student (K-12) - $10
Wilderness Wildlife Week (free programs) is happening now - January 5-8 in Pigeon Forge.
Roan Mountain’s Winter Naturalists Rally will be on Saturday, February 21.
Remember to mark your calendar for Saturday, April 18. We will participate in Warriors Path State Park’s 47th Annual Spring Nature Festival. The program by Bill Grigsby will be at 7:30 a.m. followed by a bird walk at 8:00 a.m. The flyer is attached.
