Late afternoon (it is almost winter here-Victoria, Australia) I saw a
mass of white which turned out to be about 400 Long billed (or more
precisly a mixture of Little and Long Billed) Correlas. These
magnificent birds gather in huge flocks to feed in fields. I live in
southern victoria and years ago I never saw them unless I travelled
about 200 KM north west. However these days they are regular visitors
aound Melbourne often mixed flocks of both species.
They are extremely noisy and very active to the point of being
playful. A wonderful sight.
