[Birding-Aus] Short-tailed Shearwaters in Antarctica

Hi Greg,

Australian breeding STSh have two alternate feeding strategies. One is to do
short trips to nearby waters and feed their chicks relatively fresh food, no
doubt with plenty of roughage. The other is to make a longer trip, lasting
more than a week, almost to the Antarctic continent. They then return with
food condensed to oil.

Use Google Scholar to locate an article by Klomp and Schulz. A similar study
has been done in South Australia by Einoder more recently showing similar
results.
