What to do if the bird seen is not in the list?

Hi Bela,
Could you tell us what species you are trying to add to your list, and from which State? If you can't find your species on the list, here are some things to try:
1. Search for different parts of the species name, including scientific name. For example, Grey Tit (Parus major) has been split into multiple species; the name of the birds found in India is now Cinereous Tit (Parus cinereous). So do try different combinations.
2. If you still can't find the species, click on the checkbox on the right that says "show rarities". By default this is not checked.
3. As a last resort, you can click on the button that says "add species", which will allow you to add a species from the global database. Use this only as a last resort! Please don't add Grey Tit, for example, or Eurasian Golden Oriole (Oriolus oriolus); the species in India is now Indian Golden Oriole (Oriolus kundoo).
I hope this helps.
