Dear friends,

The India eBirding Challenge for June has just been announced and we look forward to your participation and your help in encouraging your birding friends to take part.
http://www.birdcount.in/june-2014-ebirding-the-4x5-challenge/

The purpose of these challenges is for birders keep track of their own sightings while at the same time help document India's birds.

The challenges are run as part of a large consortium of organisations and groups, whose goal is to document the distribution and abundance of Indian birds on a common and open platform.

Until now, over 350,000 observations of Indian birds have been contributed to the eBird platform, of which nearly 50% have come from 2014 so far.

Anyone can explore this information by viewing summaries for India, examine maps for different species, investigate seasonality, and much more.
