Dear friends,

We are happy to announce that the creators of the eBird smartphone app have decided to make the Asia version of the app free to download until the end of this year's GBBC (ie until 17 Feb 2014).

The app is available for iOS and android. To download it, search for "BirdLog Asia" on the Google Play store or the iTunes app store.

More information on this app is at the following link:

We were hesitant to recommend this app earlier, but now that it is free, do download it and try it out. If you do download and use it, please write back -- there are several tips we can give you.

Note: you will need an eBird account, else the app will prompt you to create one when you first start it. Please remember to specify the language for common names as "English (India)"; don't leave it at the default value!

Happy birding!
