This will open single file in multiple windows not in multiple tabs. Then arrange windows vertically or horizontally to view two files simultaneously. However, I have not found the split window command like Adobe Reader in Foxit.
I regularly annotate pdf files and unfortunately there is no good linux pdf reader that supports decent annotations. Evince has a very rudimentary and buggy annotation feature. So I'm stuck using a Windows viewer through wine.
Files could be installed incorrectly. The same applies for registry keys that are stored by the Application itself. A File.Exists does not actually indicate it has been installed (and registered as a viewer).
I would personally check the Windows Installer database for the Product.checking the uninstall registry is a possible approach, however you can also invoke MsiQueryProductState using windows API calls.
Ever since the last update for Foxit PDF Viewer my DOPUS preview window will not preview PDF docs. At the top of the viewer pane it says "Foxit PDF Preview Provider (XP) (32-bit). This header was there before and after the update. I need to get my PDF preview back - what do I do?
Thanks,
Dave
It could also be your antivirus blocking Opus from loading the newer FoxIt DLL, while it didn't object to the older DLL and doesn't mind Explorer loading it. We've seen that explain differences between things working in one program and the other before. Or it could be antivirus blocking the Opus viewer pane/process (docsvw32.exe) from accessing the PDF file itself, which often happens with "privacy" software that blocks processes that aren't on a whitelist from accessing documents.
Failing all else, you could try an alternative PDF viewer. Others known to work in the viewer pane are Adobe Reader, PDX-Change and Sumatra. (With Sumatra, it doesn't install the preview handler by default; click Options in the installer and select it there.)
Hi Leo,
The version I'm using is the latest version v11.0.0.49893.
I uninstalled and reinstalled a clean download - no change.
I played with the settings on the Viewer Plugins - unchecking the XP version resulted in inconsistent behavior in the viewing window - sometimes it showed code, or nothing, or a thumbnail view.
I'm not sure how to determine whether my Windows 10 default antivirus is blocking anything. Not much transparency here. I found that MalwareBytes had installed a trial premium version that had taken over but my search there came up empty handed - no flagging of docsvw32.exe as a problem.
Dead in the water. Is there a way to use another viewer for PDF files? Doesn't seem like it needs to be Foxit since it isn't opening the app to view in DOPUS.
Thanks Leo,
Dave

All right, it is time for another tutorial in my Windows to Linux saga. Today, I will focus on FoxitReader, a versatile PDF viewer (and to some extent, editing software), with lots of interesting anduseful capabilities. If you're pondering a move from Windows to Linux, then you may be thinking, hey, will this run, too?
I could be wrong, but I could not find any way to directly export pdf from the web version of SketchUp, only the print to PDF option on the print dialog. And indeed, a pdf generated that way has an embedded print command and pops up a print dialog when opened by the PDF viewers I have tried this on. This does strike me as a bug, though a silly one because SketchUp does generate a PDF file on your computer - just one with the print command embedded.

As part of its focus on continuously improving the experience and meeting the needs of developers, PDF SDK 8.0 includes numerous new features. Advanced collaboration capabilities have been added that synchronize annotations and page manipulation among multiple instances of the PDF viewer in your browser. The new version has also made it easier to deploy the SDK in a developer's own application and manage real-time access for any user. Developers will also be able to control access and permissions of PDFs and disable functionality and toolbar buttons in the latest version.
