Dear Madam
I am Dr. K. Prashanthi, Assistant professor, Department of Biochemistry, Indian Academy Degree College (IADC). I had talked to you regarding the possibility of your students taking the Systems Biology course today. I have done my Ph.D. and Post Doc at Indian Institute of Science where I have developed experience both in experimental and computational biology. My research focus during my Ph.D. and Post Doc was in the field of Host Pathogen interactions of two Pathogens Rotavirus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I have experience in the relatively new field of Systems Biology that integrates Systems Engineering and the data of ‘omics’ technologies. I have experience in design principles of biological networks, computational modelling and simulation of biological systems and networks, systems biology and metabolic network analysis. As Biology is moving from a reductionist approach to a data driven and finally a predictive approach, training in the interdisciplinary field of Systems Biology has to become an necessary part of any Biologist's resume. Towards this end we at IADC have designed the syllabus for a certificate course on Systems Biology. The course was also executed successfully for the final Semester M.Sc. Life sciences students. We have decided to offer this course even for students and faculty of other colleges in the coming semester. I am attaching the course brochure and registration form as an attachment. Anyone interested may please contact us. All the contact details have been given in the attachment.
If you can send your college calendar of events we can fix a date for the workshop when your students have holidays.
Regards
Dr. K. Prashanthi
