Workshop Objectives
Manufacturing industries are running under severe cost constraints and there is a growing demand to improve the quality of the end product with optimal energy usage. In this regard the role of control engineers is indispensable and it is essential to control the plant parameters amidst all kinds of uncertain environment and plant parametric variations. The objective of this workshop is to give a comprehensive knowledge input regarding the effective mechanisms to model the stochastic noise component and to integrate that in designing the control laws. The workshop will address the issues related to the various stochastic modelling techniques like parametric and nonparametric based approaches with a clear emphasis upon the time series analysis. The conceptual background required for understanding this important subject includes diversified fields like signals and systems, probability and random process, etc will also be covered at the basic level in this workshop. The workshop also aims at bringing together multidisciplinary scientists to focus on the upcoming areas of system identification and control domain. The goal is to develop a bridge across industries and academic institutes by sharing the ideas, expertise and to promote research in this cutting edge technical domain. The workshop also covers ideas related to stochastic control strategies in improving the plant performance. The role of Matlab as a tool in developing models and control systems will be addressed and an exclusive lab session will be conducted during the workshop.
