Hi everybody,

we have made substantial modifications and updates of the BioTop Upper
Ontology for Biology, see

http://www.ifomis.uni-saarland.de/biotop

Summarizing the updates, there were made substantial extensions in the
BFO snap:DependentContinuant branch. Furthermore we are now using only
the instance-level subset from the OBO Relation Ontology (due to the
restrictions imposed by OWL-DL), and we are not using the granularity
dependent subclasses of snap:IndependentContinuant.
The reason is that BioTop, by design, does not make any a priori
commitment to granularity levels.
Hence the subsets bfol (BFO light) and rol (OBO RO light) we introduced.

Any kind of feedback, suggestions, and critique is welcome!
