IEEE Consultants’ Network Meeting

Angel Funding for Your Startup
Speaker: Kent Deines

Abstract:
Funding a startup can be a major obstacle. While it is usually best to completely avoid or at least delay turning to outside investors, reality may require an outside funding source at some point in the life cycle of a new company. Angel funding can be an attractive alternative to other sources. Kent Deines, who is on the San Diego high tech pre-screening committee for Tech Coast Angels, will present an engaging look at why you might and might not want to consider angel funding.

Some of the topics covered in this practical presentation and interactive discussion include:
What is angel funding (general overview)
    Introduction to Tech Coast Angels
Why many startups are shot down immediately and may never get funded
What one needs before he or she talks to an angel (and why)
    Getting started
