BioFabric is a new network visualization software tool that I have just released.  It was built upon the BioTapestry code base, and this companion software program uses some of the lessons learned from BioTapestry to create unambiguous presentations of very large networks, both directed and undirected.  The basic technique, which is a notable departure from current network visualization methods, is to represent network nodes as horizontal lines instead of as points:  (nodes != points; nodes == horizontal lines).  The software/website release was coincident with the publication of the paper describing the technique: "Combing the hairball with BioFabric: a new approach for visualization of large networks": http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2105/13/275/ .  The website is at www.BioFabric.org.  There is now also a BioFabric-users Google Group if you want to join to keep track of BioFabric progress as well.  Please go and give it a look!

Thanks,

Bill
