Details of today morning's esterification lab run (Group A):

Material:WVO

Initial wt.: 200.67g

Preheating: 10:05 to 10:30, wt after preheating: 202.13g

initial ffa: 12.2%

Normality of NaOH: 0.01N

Methanol added: 82.35g

Sulfuric acid added: 2.9g

Temp: around 64 deg C

Esterification started: 11:50

FFA content:

2) 1:10pm               0.22                   9.9                    ~12 (there was H2SO4 in the sample, which gave an erroneous value)

3) 1:40pm               0.21                   0.6                 0.81

                                  0.29                   0.9                 0.88

Esterification stopped: 2 pm

Final FFA content: 0.845%.

1) Always take sample oil for FFA from bottom of the reactor.
2) Do FFA for 2-3 samples so as to get correct reading.
