Dear all,

Finally, version 2.2.0 is released. Apart from the usual bugs fixed and novelties which you can check on the ChangeLogs, here is a briefing of a few things that have changed:
  • BppSuite is considered mature enough, and now numbered after the libraries version. It therefore comes as version 2.2.0.
  • The apt repository has been reorganized, as packages are actually built with Ubuntu. Correspondance between Bio++ versions and Ubuntu versions is provided on the wiki, here. Packages are not submitted yet to debian.
  • RPM files for various Linux distributions are available on the OpenSUSE Build Service. Packages for Mageia4 have also been created by Thomas and can be downloaded from here.
  • If anybody volunteers to build dmg packages... CMake should in theory allow that rather easily (providing one has a Mac).
  • Windows support is considered deprecated ......  no, it should of course compile there, but I have to admit that my old Windows XP virtual machine really IS deprecated, so there again, is someone volunteers to package on this OS, I'll upload the resulting files.
  • The main website has been simplified, with several sections moved to the wiki. There are still a few issues there though, mostly due to the update of nanoblogger. Will fix that asap.
  • The two google groups have been reset! The Help forum is nos configured as a Q & A forum, enabling new features such as staring answers, etc. The development forum has been configured as a web forum (this should lead to less changes).
Do not hesitate to report any issue you may find. We will make official announcements in a few days.

Many thanks to everybody who got more or less involved at any point in this tedious process !!

Happy coding,

Julien.

Hi there,

Just to mention that I finally migrated the full Bio++ website to the wiki. I also completed the benchmark comparing the performance of BppML with other software for a large set of models (link is on the new webpage).

As usual, any feedback welcome!

Julien.
