> The research focus is signal transduction in cancer and inflammation. In particular, we are interested in the elucidation of
> • molecular mechanisms of cytokine signal transduction mediated by Janus kinases and STAT transcription factors; (patho)physiologic consequences of Jak/STAT signaling and cross-talk with other signalling pathways (e. g. hypoxia),
> • the role of microRNAs in cancer development and growth regulation; microRNAs as biomarkers.

> Tasks/Mission:
> • The successful candidate will perform research related to the topics of the Signal Transduction Laboratory; possible collaborations e. g. with the Luxembourg Centre of Systems Biomedicine and clinical partners.
> • Participation in teaching activities: Bachelor in Life Sciences / Master in Integrated Systems Biology / Doctoral School of Molecular and Systems Biomedicine.
> • Submission of grant proposals and (co-)supervision of Master and PhD students will be encouraged.

> Profile:

> • A PhD in Biology or Biochemistry (or equivalent)
> • Solid background in Biochemistry and Molecular/Cell Biology documented by peer-reviewed publications. Advanced skills and experiences in Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology would be an asset.
> • Proficient knowledge in English is mandatory. Knowledge of German and/or French is an advantage.
